Memories from Craig Schelter

Hey Cousin (uncle) John. Can't say I really know what to say. But I got the message and heard you and Melissa will be sharing some memories together. You always showed so much pride and love for Melissa and she has always been a big dad fan of yours.  the way she smiled and snuggled into you when you made some smart ass remark at her expense was pretty sweet.  I’ve been out west a long time now and there isn’t a holiday that goes by that I don’t think of the Schelter family get togethers.

Your dad’s larger than life presence and always your quick whit and one liners. You always had a joke and kept things sharp. I knew whatever I said it was coming back at me with a smart pun or response that would no doubt make me blush as I figured out life as a boy in an adults world. I couldn’t believe some of the things you would dare say in front of aunty Marg (your mom). It took me a while to grow up and discover her sense of humour. Perhaps I was naive as a youngster but I can’t recall a bad time at your folks place or with you around at one of the Schelter bash’s.  You brought such joy and laughter to our events.

I’m so happy you met Sheryl and landed in a place where you could get some good fishing in. It looks like Melissa is a successful young woman in the real-estate world and still keeping some family get together traditions going with Bonnie and Julie. I imagine you’re very proud of her and you should be. I just wanted you to know a few things that stand out for me and know your thought of and remembered from a guy in B.C.  big squeeze to you, Melissa, Bonnie , Julie and Sheryl.

Thinking of you guys. And of course, butches favourite joke for ya.

what did the big tomato say to the little tomato while they were out for a walk?…
