A Story from Lou!

I’ve had the pleasure of being great friends with Mel since she started going to my school in grade 7. While I give her all the credit for being awesome, I know you had a big role in raising her to be that way. Part of what I loved was spending time at your house because it was just FUN. It really gave me the escape from my boring, rigid household. You guys really created an environment that was light and interactive, and I enjoyed that I could just be silly, creative and inappropriate. I always got a good laugh listening to you signing, whistling, or telling a good dad joke. I’m sure you also got a good laugh out of our shenanigans. I was so excited when you planned to drive us to Toronto for a weekend of fun - a car full of high school girls - I feel like most dads would dread this! But you leaned in and let us play our stupid music the whole way, and trusted us to stay in our own hotel room. This is where “Sugar Daddy” was born! Maybe we didn’t think that through too much or know better… but we sure thought it was pretty funny. I also don’t know if you know this, but we thought we were SUPER rebels and smuggled a few coolers into the hotel room to enjoy. I get a good laugh now thinking about how we didn’t think to bring a bottle opener and couldn’t figure out how to open them, so we didn’t end up drinking them at all. We were devastated 😆. All in all, we had a great trip thanks to you just letting us be our crazy selves. Thanks for being awesome. Love you sugar daddy!
