A Story from Matt Reitzel

Hey uncle John,

I'm sitting here just thinking randomly and I wanted to tell you about a memory that feels like yesterday to me, it was when the entire fam was together hanging out at the timber frame home on your 100 a restaurant just cranking some Shania Twain concerts on the TV and cranking, and I mean CRANKING some Fleetwood Mac!! There is not a day when I listen to these two artists that I don't think about you, its ingrained in my brain for life. I believe you were having your rum and cokes, and just screaming away to them, it was an old DVD we were all watching and I was sitting on the couch while you were behind us all being the best singer in the room haha.

Remember when we went fishing? It was, just you, my dad and I, we got up real early one morning and spent a few hours on the lake. We didn't catch much, but you always told me, " 5 more minutes till prime fishing time" its funny because now I tell my friends the same thing when we aren't catching anything. It makes them believe i know something about the lake im fishing on!

I have a little girl now, im sure melissa has told you and shown you pictures of her ( I hope she has anyways) she's my entire world now along with my beautiful wife. I hope to some day be as great as a dad that you are. You've been a good role model and want to take a few of the pointers I've noticed along the way when I was a little dude.

Im not sure you know this, but whenever Melissa and I get together, we always have a few drinks together and for years and years we have called it "solving world's problems", its probably one of the most genuine times we get to have with each other and I can sure tell you it will never end. We've solved so many problems in the world so far and will continue for eternity!!
